Handcrafted with precision in our Devon workshop, this natural leather belt reflects the skill of our national award-winning craftsman. As you wear it, the leather develops a rich patina and becomes more personal with time.

Leather

Crafted from London Tan coloured oak bark tanned English leather, this piece uses hides produced by J.&F.J. Baker & Co. Ltd. in Colyton, Devon. Established in 1862 and still run by the Baker family, Britain’s last remaining oak bark tannery continues a proud tradition of quality.

Each hide is slowly tanned using traditional methods passed down through generations. As a result, the leather is strong, supple, and beautifully finished. The Baker family upholds their heritage of authentic English craftsmanship, making this material a true symbol of quality and tradition.

Buckle

A 1¼-inch (32 mm) Flat West End-style solid brass buckle completes the design, sand-cast by the skilled foundry at Abbey England. Because Abbey England holds the King’s Royal Warrant for the supply of saddlery and workshop materials, each buckle represents outstanding British quality.

Through traditional sand-casting methods, the foundry creates a solid brass belt buckle with exceptional strength, lasting durability, and a timeless finish that perfectly complements our English leather.

Keepers

You’ll find two narrow sewn-in keepers positioned just after the buckle, along with a matching loose, free-moving keeper. The latter helps hold the strap’s end securely whenever needed. Together, they ensure a neat and refined finish.

Edges

Each belt edge is hand-polished with a green-coloured finish. This treatment gives the cut leather a distinctive, uniform look while also reducing moisture absorption for better longevity. Therefore, the edges remain strong and smooth for years to come.

Thread

The buckle and fixed keeper are hand-stitched with green Tiger thread, chosen for its toughness and bold contrast. In addition, the loose keeper is sewn in the same thread, featuring eight precise stitches per inch for a consistent, durable result.

Belt Size

This belt measures 48 inches, approximately UK women’s size 28*.

Sizing Guide

According to the M&S sizing chart, a women’s size 28 corresponds to this 48-inch belt.
As a general rule, add two inches (around 5 cm) to your trouser size to find your belt size. Although this method doesn’t suit everyone, it offers an excellent starting point.

Alternatively, measure your current belt — from where the leather turns over the buckle to the hole you use most often. The Belt Makers measure all belts from the turn of the buckle to the centre hole, allowing room for adjustment on either side.
