Made by hand with great care in the Devon workshop of a National Award winning craftsman. With this genuine natural leather you can begin the creation of your own heart warming story of a favourite belt that could be used by several members, even generations of the same family, and yet more stories of a belt that carries the scuffs, dents and marks of everyday life as it accompanies the wearer through college, relationships, family, etc.

Red coloured, Sedgwick’s First Grade English Bridle veg tanned leather

Buckle

1¹/₈ inch wide (29mm) ‘West End Roller’ style in stainless steel. These buckles are super strong and resistant to rust

Trims

Purple edge and stitch, two fixed and one loose narrow keepers

Leather

Red Sedgwick’s leather, primarily known for its bridle leather, is a high-quality, British-made leather renowned for its fine quality and traditional tanning methods. They use high-quality cattle hides from the UK and Ireland, and their products are known for their durability and smooth finish

Buckle

1¹/₈ inch wide (29mm) ‘West End Roller’ style in stainless steel. These buckles are super strong and resistant to rust

Keepers

Two sewn in narrow keepers just after the buckle and one loose, free moving keeper to help hold down the other end of the strap if required

Edges

The leather edges are hand polished with a Purple finish, to help reduce moisture absorption along the edges and keep the look of the cut leather strap uniform

Thread

Purple coloured Tiger thread has been used to hand sew the buckle and fixed, narrow keepers into place, and to sew the matching loose keeper ends together. Stitches are spaced at 8 to the inch

Belt size

40 inches (approx UK clothing size 20)*

Clothing size is based on the online M&S sizing chart

As a general rule of thumb, adding a couple of inches (approx 5cm) to your trouser size should give you your belt size. Please be aware that this doesn’t work for everyone, however, it is usually a very good starting point

You could also measure the wearer’s current belt: from where the leather turns over the buckle to the hole they are currently using

The Belt Makers belts are measured from where the leather turns over the buckle to the centre of the range of holes, so that we provide adjustment on either side
