Dark Blue coloured, Sedgwick’s First Grade English Bridle Butt, veg tanned leather

1.5 inch wide (38mm) ‘Swell Front West End’ style buckle in solid brass

Leather

Dark Blue coloured Sedgwick’s bridle leather skin. Primarily known for their bridle leather, Sedgwick produces high-end, British-made leather renowned for its fine quality and traditional vegetable tanning methods. They use premium-quality cattle hides from the UK and Ireland, and their products are known for their strength, durability, density and lustre, giving a beautifully smooth finish

Buckle

1.5 inch wide (38mm) ‘Swell Front West End’ style buckle in solid brass. Reclaimed brass, made in England

Keepers

Two narrow fixed leather keepers hand sewn into place and one loose, free moving keeper helps hold down the other end of the strap if required

Edges

The leather edges are hand polished with a Blue finish, to help reduce moisture absorption along the edges and keep the look of the cut leather strap uniform

Thread

Dark Blue coloured Tiger thread has been used to hand sew the buckle into place, and to sew the matching loose keeper ends together. Stitches are spaced at 8 to the inch

Imperfections

Please see photos: there is a short scratch in the middle of the leather strap (at the back when fastened) and to shorter scratches on the strap end and the second fixed keeper in the final picture. These marks came to us in the leather and may have occured during the cow’s life. The price is discounted accordingly

Belt size

33 inches (approx UK clothing size 12-14)*

*Sizing

Clothing size is based on the online M&S sizing chart

As a general rule of thumb, adding a couple of inches (approx 5cm) to your trouser size should give you your belt size. Please be aware that this doesn’t work for everyone, however, it is usually a very good starting point

You could also measure the wearer’s current belt: from where the leather turns over the buckle to the hole they are currently using

The Belt Makers belts are measured from where the leather turns over the buckle to the centre of the range of holes, so that we provide adjustment on either side
