Just that little bit of help when you might need it!
A small but mighty, and quite cheeky, piece of sturdy elastic is stitched into place behind the buckle, providing just a little bit of 'give' where one might need it most! We are, of course, thinking weddings and other important occasions, where one might be socially required to finish that special meal, that the family and friends have so carefully and thoughtfully provided. Well, it would be rude not to...
Bending and lifting a lot through the course of the day, could also be made a touch more comfortable with a belt of this design.
As always, this belt is entirely made by hand in the workshop of a National award winning craftsman.
Information on our methods and techniques can be found in our About pages.
Leather: Sedgwick's First Grade English Bridle Butt, shown here in Australian Nut.
Detail: The edge has been sealed without any colour added, to leave the natural leather colour showing through. The buckle, keepers and elastic are handstitched into place with brown natural linen thread.
Buckle: 1¼ inch wide (32mm) solid brass ‘Swell Front West End’ with stainless steel tongue
Belt sizes: From 30 inches to 48 inches in all standard colours. From 50 inches to 72 inches in Black and Conker.
All sizes quoted are approximate and any accessories shown in photography are not included. Please allow up to 28 days for your belt to be handmade for you and dispatched.
Obtained from the supplier with the Royal Warrant, the Sedgwick leather used in this belt is world renowned for its strength, durability, density and lustre. As the belt is worn in, in a similar way to wearing in good leather boots and shoes, the leather will react to the natural oils in your hands and to your body heat, becoming more supple over time. Subsequently, as it moulds beautifully to your shape and it develops its unique natural patina, it will result in a wonderfully personal leather accessory, thus making it a firm favourite for years to come.
Leather is, of course, a natural material so a little slight marking and colour variation are expected. No two belts will be the same.
Take care when wearing with light coloured items as, in the way of all coloured leather products, some colour transfer may occur especially in hot or damp conditions.
TBM belts are handmade rather than hand machined and you can find more information in our About pages.
