The 3-strand plait is woven entirely by hand (not machine). The plait goes all the way to the tip so that when it's fastened, all you see is glorious plait, with the edge of each strand having been individually hand polished so that it proudly shows from every gorgeous angle.

The strands of each and every individually handmade Plaited belt are lovingly hand sewn into the capped end at 8 stitches to the inch (and there's lots more information on our methods and techniques in our About pages!)

Leather: Sedgwick's First Grade English Bridle Butt, shown here in Conker brown.

Detail: On this example, a beautiful red edge and stitch compliment the leather beautifully. The leather colour you order will normally be completed with a matching edge colour (green with green, etc) unless you would like something different? Do drop us a line!

Buckle: 1¼ inch wide (33mm) solid brass ‘London Dee’ with stainless steel tongue.

Belt sizes: Equivalent of up to 64 inches in Black and Conker shades and up to 40 inches in all our other standard colours.

Obtained from the supplier with the Royal Warrant, the Sedgwick leather used in this belt is world renowned for its strength, durability, density and lustre. As the belt is worn in, in a similar way to wearing in good leather boots and shoes, the leather will react to the natural oils in your hands and to your body heat, becoming more supple over time. Subsequently, as it moulds beautifully to your shape and it develops its unique natural patina, it will result in a wonderfully personal leather accessory, thus making it a firm favourite for years to come. 

Leather is, of course, a natural material so a little slight marking and colour variation are expected. No two belts will be the same.

Take care when wearing with light coloured items as, in the way of all coloured leather products, some colour transfer may occur especially in hot or damp conditions.
